Welcome to RainAhead

The project RainAhead has been designed to adapt to the effects of climate change in the City of Luebeck. It is supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (support code 03DAS014).

The project’s main objective is to reduce potential risks caused by urban flash floods. An integrated planning and warning tool for heavy rainfall will be developed to support local municipalities in order to improve flood protection and flood management. The warning tool will be implemented in a web application. It will visualize areas at risk from flooding and thus support the fire service’s operational planning.

The project has been started in June 2013 for a period of three years.

Our flyer gives a first overview with the results from our work.
